Barcelona once again became the epicenter of the world's largest audiovisual fair, Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), held from January 30th to February 2nd, 2024, at the Fira de Barcelona.
This year, we were once again selected by ISE, the world's leading fair in the audiovisual sector, to offer an exclusive guided technological tour to visitors during the event, providing them with the opportunity to witness the implementations of new technologies and learn all the details of the commercial center's renovation. We explored how this project was carried out, from the fascinating concept of digital lighting integrated into a dynamic ceiling to the strategically distributed LED screens throughout the shopping center.
On February 2nd, LEDDREAM Group, in collaboration with the Management of the L'illa Diagonal shopping center, the architecture studio Batlleiroig, and Lumalia Studio, conducted an exclusive technological tour for visitors during the ISE fair, the world's most important event in the audiovisual sector. The event took place at the L'illa shopping center itself, where we presented all the fascinating details of this renovation and discovered how this project was executed: an innovative concept of digital lighting integrated into a dynamic ceiling and LED screens strategically distributed throughout the shopping center. These elements not only contribute to the overall aesthetics but also offer L'illa visitors in Barcelona a unique visual experience.

This exciting tour featured presentations by prominent professionals: Gerard Cutal, Manager of the L'illa shopping center; Laura Quintana, Associate & Architect at Batlleiroig; Víctor Valcárcel, Creative Director at Lumalia Studio; and Carlos Delgado, Operations Director of LEDDREAM Group. Together, they delved into the realization of this project, unraveling objectives, challenges, and architectural perspectives, while exploring the impact of technology on lighting, design, and the creation of experiences. Among the digital elements that stood out on the second-floor hallway were the two impressive LED screens that create a surprising visual experience. Alongside the digital ceiling canvas, these screens attract visitors' attention in a chameleon-like manner.
The ceiling of L’illa Diagonal becomes a fascinating digital canvas, and through abstract movements of masses of light and color, they dance in harmony, creating animated skies that seem to come to life.
In addition, visitors explored the creation process, the driving motivations, and the strategic locations where LED technology, dynamic digital lighting, as well as the fundamental principles of design and architecture were deployed. From conception to implementation of this innovative concept of digital lighting on the ceiling and the incorporation of various LED screens throughout the shopping center. This fascinating renovation of the L'illa shopping center becomes an urban refuge where creativity, technology, and architecture intertwine, offering an unforgettable experience for all who explore this unique space.
