The new Madnum office complex, owned by Colonial SFL, is redefining Madrid’s corporate landscape with a vision that blends innovation, sustainability, and contemporary design. Located in one of the city’s most vibrant districts, the building offers generous workspaces, landscaped terraces, and communal areas designed to enhance well-being and interaction. Altogether, the complex spans 90,000 m², with 56,000 m² dedicated to office space.

Madnum stands out for its leadership in eco-efficiency and sustainability. Conceived as an almost zero-energy complex, it operates with 100% renewable energy and has a declared zero-carbon footprint. Its approach is rooted in energy efficiency, smart technology, and the comfort of tomorrow’s workplaces. Within this vision, digital lighting becomes a narrative tool that shapes the space. LEDDREAM GROUP, through its lighting studio Lumalia Studio, designed and implemented a lighting installation that transforms the building’s main entrance into an immersive, contemporary visual experience.
The main entrance on Calle Méndez Álvaro 59 serves as the gateway to the complex. Crossing it leads to La Plaza de Madnum, the social and gastronomic heart of the building. The experience unfolds in a circular layout that naturally connects to different areas of the complex, including the inner courtyard and the vertical garden. The journey invites visitors to explore open and landscaped areas accessible not only to those who work at Madnum but also to anyone wishing to enjoy this unique environment.

An organic design that seamlessly guides you into the building.
The project began with the transformation of the entrance area—which originally featured an empty ceiling—into an architectural element that organizes the flow and strengthens the building’s identity. A total of 72 linear luminaires were designed and installed, arranged organically to draw lines of light that trace the path from the street into the interior courtyard. These fluid, sinuous forms evoke the movement of air and people, creating a sense of continuity between exterior and interior.
This interplay of luminous lines generates an enveloping and precise atmosphere capable of transforming the perception of the space throughout the day. The high-power RGBW luminaires cover 170 square meters of digital lighting. With an advanced system of more than 7,200 control pixels, each element can be individually adjusted in color and temperature to match different moments or events—shifting from neutral, elegant lighting to more expressive compositions. The system can move effortlessly between functional, understated tones and vibrant chromatic scenes that reinforce the building’s visual identity.

The building’s main signage, designed and integrated by the same team, is synchronized with the lighting system to create a cohesive and sophisticated visual presence. More than a simple sign, it acts as a natural extension of the architecture and the lighting concept. Seamlessly integrated into the whole, it reinforces Madnum’s identity and accompanies visitors through a smooth transition from the outside in.

The result is a serene and contemporary visual experience, where every detail—from the shape of the luminaires to the tone of the light—engages in dialogue with the space. The entire installation breathes subtle elegance, built through soft, enveloping hues that bring balance, warmth, and a timeless sense of harmony. To elevate the experience, two high-brightness 75” outdoor kiosks were installed, enhancing digital communication possibilities and creating a new point of visual engagement at the main entrance.
The technology used allows for dynamic adjustment of light temperature and color depending on the time of day, the environment, or special events. The blend of parametric design, technical precision, and aesthetic sensitivity makes this installation one of the most distinctive lighting projects in Madrid today—an intervention that aims not for immediate impact but for an atmosphere and visual narrative that reflect the building’s identity and the evolving way we inhabit corporate spaces.
