NBA Café in Barcelona

The National Basketball Association and the Spanish restoration chain ANGrup joined forces to open Europe’s first NBA café in la Rambla de Barcelona: a large 1,200m2 installation that comprises various digital audiovisual and LED solutions distributed across its several areas. The magnificent restaurant was designed by the prestigious interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violan’s studio, author of over 200 projects worldwide. Here, fans have the chance to meet NBA superstars, including players, team mascots and dance crews.

NBA Café Barcelona is the first of its kind in Europe. It is designed for fans of all ages as it offers gastronomy and entertainment surrounded by the feeling of the NBA, in a modern venue, immersing its customers in the very American essence of an NBA game, with its star players and basketball legends.

Spectacular 57m long LED screen, surrounding the room

The massive project comprises 30 LED screens in different formats and several LED panels incorporated into the venue’s stairs, windows and cash desks. One of the novelties of this re-styling is the spectacular 57m long LED screen surrounding the whole room. This impressive piece of engineering will remind customers of an NBA stadium displaying headlines of the professional North American championship and products to assist a menu full of American dishes.

The entrance hall is the most dynamic and social space, with two interactive vertical screens to consult the menu. Next to it is the LED staircase decorated with LED panels also displaying interactive content. Then comes the trophy exhibition room and its "Measure Up" screen that simulates the sizes of NBA players. Finally, window jambs of 10 LED panels are displayed on the window façade and enhance the store's visibility for all those strolling along the emblematic Ramblas in Barcelona.

Multiple technological solutions

The project was led by TMM Group and the engineering expert Insal-Audiosystems in close collaboration with LED DREAM. The multiple technological solutions such as LED screens, LED stairs, the interactive ‘Measure Up’ system and the window jambs are clear examples of how LED screens can guide clients from the street into a venue. The result is undoubtedly a stunning one.
