The Madnum office and residential complex, owned by Colonial SFL, sets a new benchmark in Madrid’s corporate landscape through an approach that blends innovation, sustainability, and considered lighting design. Located in one of the city’s most dynamic areas, the building brings together spacious work environments, landscaped terraces, and shared areas designed to encourage interaction and well-being. The project spans a total of 90,000 m², with 56,000 m² dedicated to office space. Madnum stands out for its strong commitment to efficiency and sustainability: conceived as an almost zero-energy complex, it operates on 100% renewable power and has a declared zero-carbon footprint. Its concept prioritizes energy performance, technology, and the comfort expected from the workplaces of the future.

Digital lighting becomes a defining element that shapes the character and identity of the space. LEDDREAM GROUP, through its creative studio Lumalia Studio, has designed and implemented a lighting installation that transforms the main entrance into a contemporary and immersive visual experience. Located at Calle Méndez Álvaro, 59, the main entrance serves as the gateway to the complex. As visitors step inside, they encounter La Plaza de Madnum, the social and gastronomic heart of the building. The flow follows a circular layout that seamlessly connects the various areas of the complex, including the inner courtyard and the vertical garden. This configuration invites people to explore open, landscaped spaces accessible not only to those who work at Madnum but also to anyone wishing to enjoy this unique environment.

Madnum: An Organic Lighting Journey That Transforms the Spatial Experience

The project began by turning the entrance area—originally featuring an empty ceiling—into an architectural element that guides the flow and reinforces the building’s identity. Seventy-two linear luminaires were installed in an organic arrangement, creating lines of light that connect the street with the inner courtyard, evoking movement and continuity between exterior and interior spaces.

The installation spans 170 m² of digital lighting with over 7,200 controllable pixels, allowing for modulation of color and temperature according to different moments or events—ranging from neutral, elegant lighting to more expressive compositions that reinforce the complex’s visual identity. The main signage, synchronized with the lighting, is integrated as an extension of both architecture and illumination, providing visual coherence and guiding visitors smoothly into the interior.

Madnum Much More Than a Real Estate Complex — Where Offices, Residences, and Nature Connect Through Design and Technology

Cutting-Edge Lighting at Madnum, the Landmark Office and Residential Complex

The result is an elegant and contemporary visual composition, where every element—from the geometry of the luminaires to the subtlety of the light itself—integrates seamlessly with the architecture. The space exudes a refined sophistication, crafted through immersive tones that bring balance, warmth, and a continuous sense of harmony.

To enhance the experience, two 75” high-brightness outdoor kiosks have been incorporated, expanding the scope of digital communication and creating a new visual connection point at the main entrance.

The applied technology allows for modulation of light color and temperature according to the time of day, the environment, or special events. The combination of parametric design, technical precision, and careful aesthetic consideration makes this installation one of the most distinctive lighting projects in Madrid today. Far from seeking immediate impact, it creates an atmosphere and visual narrative that reflect the building’s identity and a new way of inhabiting corporate spaces.
